Harder to vote, easier to kill

The state legislature’s dual passage of two bills – one restricting access at the polls and another that removes a duty to retreat from Arkansas’ stand your ground bill – prompted Sen. Jim Hendren to note the extremism evident in today’s politics.

Dozens of Arkansans traveled to the state Capitol to speak about the potential for harm from the bills. Their voices were drowned out by lobbyists who pressure legislators with threats of a primary opponent or withheld funding.

Common Ground Arkansas is listening to Arkansans. Together, we can work toward common sense legislation in the Natural State.
