Since we launched Common Ground Arkansas a few months ago, we’ve been listening to Arkansans. We’ve sought out conversations with people from around the state to help us identify challenges to good governance in Arkansas and come up with ways to fix them.
Over the coming weeks, we’ll be posting about some of those challenges and ways we can work together to build a better path forward. We hope to spark conversations that lead to even better ideas.
Some of the things we’ll be talking about:
- How do we provide Arkansans with candidates that they actually want to vote for, rather than the ‘lesser of two evils’ decision that we too often face?
- What are the obstacles to a fair electoral process where everyone has equal opportunity to vote as guaranteed under our Constitution and where our choices are equally weighted?
- How do we hold our elected officials accountable when their loyalties so often lie with special interest groups? Hint: It involves voters and purse strings.
What’s Next?
In May, we’ll host an event to introduce our full team. And this summer, we’re coming to a town near you to hear your voices. We want to learn about the unique challenges and the people best suited to solving them in your area.
We believe that Arkansans are problem solvers. We deserve leaders that are too. Let’s make it happen in 2022.
There will be more to share on Common Ground Arkansas in the coming weeks. In the meantime, here are some ways you can help.
