These 5 counties have the fewest polling places per person.
Benton
Benton County has just one polling place for every 9,178 people. That puts them in last place among all of Arkansas’ 75 counties. And it’s less than half the number of locations per person as their neighbor, Washington County, which has one location per 4,238 people.
Pope
Pope County has just one polling place for every 9,113 people. There are wide gaps between polling locations, impacting our rural communities the most.
Arkansas
Arkansas County has just one polling place for every 8,361 people. This is the worst performing county in the Delta.
Lonoke
Lonoke County has just one polling place for every 8,302 people.

Cleveland
Cleveland County has one polling place for every 537 people. That makes them the most accessible among all of Arkansas’ 75 counties. It’s a marked disparity from the worst county (one per 9,000 people) to the best (one per 500 people).

Newton County has one polling place for every 800 people. Like Cleveland, Newton is also a rural county which has a done a good job of ensuring polling locations are available to its residents.

Jefferson County has just one early voting location to serve its entire population of 65,861 people. That puts them in last place among all of Arkansas’ 75 counties. Jefferson fares much better with a rank of 21 in Election Day voting but provides little support for early voters.

Pope County has just one early voting location to serve its entire population of 63,789 people. Pope also ranked 74th (next to last) in Election Day polling locations per person.

Craighead County has just two early voting locations, amounting to one location per 56,109 people. Craighead also performs poorly in Election Day locations, ranking 71st out of 75.
