Original Title

To adopt daylight saving time permanently; concerning daylight saving time: and to amend the duties of the Secretary of State.

Summary

What it does

The bill requires the state to observe Daylight Saving Time permanently if the federal government eventually allows states to do so. This is the second bill filed this session on this issue.

What happened?

This bill failed in House committee. Opposition centered around two factors:
  1. Preference of legislators on Daylight Saving Time vs. Standard Time
  2.  The need: If states are ever given the authority to make this change, let that group of legislators make the decision.
