To authorize the State Board of Examiners of Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselors to require criminal background checks for applicants for licensure.

What it does
This bill would disallow people that have been convicted of a number of offenses including murder, kidnapping, battery, rape, family offense, etc., from being licensed as alcohol and drug abuse counselors or technicians. It allows the State Board of Examiners of Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselors to require a background check.
