House Agriculture, Forestry, and Economic Development

March 3, 2022

Vaught Chair sees a quorum. Representative Boyd, would you like to join us at the end of the table to present House Resolution 1042?

Boyd Thank you, Madam Chair. This is similar to the House Resolution that I presented the other day, so I’m not going to spend a lot of time. But just a reminder, you know, roughly a year ago, gas was around $1.70 a gallon. Right now, when I filled up earlier this week, it was over $3 a gallon. The price of oil is over $100 a barrel. Certain geopolitical tensions are threatening, you know, the security and supply. And everything we do where we’re sending oil and gas money to another country is something that, you know, furthers their interest and creates dependance for us. And so it’s time that we move forward with opening our, our gas and– oil and gas supplies.

Vaught Are there any questions? Seeing no questions, what’s the will of the committee? I have a motion do pass by several. All of those in favor say aye. Opposed no. Congratulations, your resolution has passed. And we’re adjourned.
