Original Title
To Repeal Section 5 of Acts 2021, No. 568
Summary
What it does
During the last session, Act 568 allowed cities to opt not to use a licensed architect for projects if the building value was less than $250,000. Before the Act, the building value had to be less than $100,000 to forego an architect. However, that Act had a requirement that it would be reviewed by House and Senate committees by Oct. 10, 2022, to determine whether to revert the value back to $100,000 or keep it at $250,000. While the committee missed that deadline for review (they didn’t review it until Oct. 31), they approved keeping the value at $250,00. Therefore the review requirement listed in the Act has been met, and this bill just removes that language.
